KOTA KINABALU, April 9 (Bernama) — All Grade G7 contractors are required to have ISO 9001 certification effective July 1, Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) chairman Tan Sri Ir Jamilus Hussein said today.
They risk being downgraded to G6 if they failed to obtain the standards certification by that date, he said.
So far, only 1,299 or 32 per cent of the G7 grade contractors have ISO 9001 accreditation, he said when speaking at an appreciation function for 30 contractors who had obtained the accreditation.
